Multi-Media Exchange

Each month I participate in a Multi-Media Swap.
We usually have a theme, and anything goes,
as it is however you interpret the theme.
.  This month the theme was "Feminine".

This was mine!

I'm sorry, I don't have all the names of those that participate.
I will try to get them by next month so I can give them credit.

I forgot to take pictures of these,
so hurried up to get them on this post.
I have already put this pencil holder to work by my desk.

I have also been using my luggage tag.
This was actually from an earlier swap.

Lollydoodle/ Feathers Card

Kelly Wittner taught us this technique
at our Unit Meeting this month.
We used the Lollydoodle paper packet from
Close to My Heart for the backround and the matching inks from the kit.  Starting with the lightest color,
we layered the colors on the stamp, then spritzed the stamp
with water before stamping the image.

Artbooking Luminary

Here is one of the  Luminaries I made recently
using the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge for the roses and green pieces, and the Close to My Heart  Cricut Artbooking Cartridge for the black luminary overlay piece.
They have battery operated candles in the center.

I made ten of these for centerpieces for a banquet later this month.  I will post a picture of the tables after the banquet.
I hope you give one a try.

Happy Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day.
What are you doing to save the earth?
I thought I would share a recycling project I recently finished.  I love to burn candle melts, but hated to throw away the wax when the scent had faded, so I poured the melted wax into a heart shaped mold to cool.

This is how I made these cute favors.

  • Cool wax in mold
  •  Pop wax out of the mold
  •  Using a small drill, put a hole in the center
  • Tie a string in hole
  • Stamp design with archival ink onto some tissue paper
  • Color with markers
  • Cut out as close to the design as you can
  • Placed the stamped tissue on top of the wax, then cover with wax paper (hold tightly over top)
  • Using heat tool and moving back and forth, heat the area until you can see the design getting stronger (Caution - you don't want the wax to melt too much)
  •  Removed the wax paper
  •  Immediately use a nylon stocking to rub over the surface to smooth areas that might have melted
  • Apply glitter with finger

  • I just finished 63 of these as favors for a banquet  later this month.  They were easy, taking less than a minute to complete each one after they had been Stamped, cut and colored.

MATCHBOOK POST - IT NOTE HOLDER

Today, I wanted to use up some scraps of Sophia paper
I've had sitting around, so I decided to make this
Post-it holder for my girlfriend's purse.
Have you ever made a Matchbook Post-it Holder?
They are so easy and fun to make.

I will post directions later this week.
