MIXED MEDIA CREATIVE EXCHANGE

Here are some of the items we exchanged over the summer. 

 I'm sorry I didn't get pictures of all of them, but here are a few.

This candle holder was done by Linda Holiday. 

 It glows beautifully when the candle is lit.

  She's the queen of Mod Podge!

Cindy Kleinfelter Made this cute birthday treat holder. 

 Some of the candy disappeared before I took the picture.

This cute little owl notepad was made by Nina

 and her wonderful Cricut. 

 You too could easily make this.  Isn't it adorable?

I made this for the birthday exchange.

I made this picture frame for the

 "Anything that reminds you of Summer". 

 Rest and relaxation by the water is my kind of summer.

Here it is the 12th of September and the weather is in the 80's.  Yesterday was the second hottest day all summer and we broke a record.  I love it!  It will all be gone much too soon.

GRATITUDE CARD

I wish you could see this card, as the

 picture does not capture the beauty of the gel sparkle.

It is one of the most striking cards I've made.

Supplies:  Close to My Heart (unless otherwise stated)

    Papers - Kraft, Outdoor Denim, Cocoa, New England Ivy                 cardstock

    Stamp - Always Grateful (C1559)

    Inks - Cocoa (Z2114)

    Embellishments - Glitz Glitter Gels

    Almond (Z1769), Green (Z1771), Red (Z1484,

    Bronze (Z1483)

    Misc. - Scallop Border Punch (Z1851), CTMH Cricuit

    Artbooking Cartridge (Z1906), Scissors, Acrylic Block,

    3-D Foam Tape, Cocoa marker

    Other - not CTMH - White Gel Pen

This side view shows how the card is assembled.

                                 

Directions:

    * Cut 6"x 12" Kraft CS to form 6"x 6" card, fold

    * Cut 5 3/4"x 5 3/4" New England Ivy CS, adhere

    * On New England Ivy piece, placing the piece back onto you paper trimmer, measure in 1/2" on all four sides, keeping it 1/2" in from all four corners, cut to form a box 1/2" wide within the original piece. Adhere

    * Using CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge, cut Outdoor Denim  page 72 <Overlay> <b> at 5 1/2", adhere large piece as shown

    * Trim Cocoa piece with border punch, embellish with gel pen, adhere as shown

    * Stamp sentiment

    * Apply small pieces of foam tape to trunk of tree, adhere. 

    * Using marker, color entire trunk, then reapply to one side only for dimension

    * Add foam tape to larger leaves and adhere as shown 

    *  Using Glitz Glitter Gel, color in  all leaves

    * Allow to dry several hours
